Description
This is a mutant in which pil system, a type 4 pili in Shewanella has been knocked down. This was done to test whether the pili I see in wt are msh or pilsystem. Turns out, what I see in wt is msh because in the msh knockdown they are absent and pil knockdown they are present. Pil M-Q has been knocked down. This is the complete biosynthetic machinery.
