Description

This file is a movie of Jupiter's northern hemisphere during the Cassini approach, October - December, 2000. It is composed of a time sequence of frames in the UV1 filter, effective wavelength 258 nm. Each frame is a mosaic from six or more images mapped to a projection with the north pole at the center and the radial distance proportional to cosine(latitude). In the second half of the movie the 60-degree latitude circle is shown, along with the location of Jupiter's main auroral oval indicated by + symbols and System III longitudes in the corners.
