Description

Data used in the Review of Scientific Instruments manuscript titled "Laser-Induced Fluorescence Measurement of Very Slow Neutral Flows in a Dusty Plasma Experiment" The three zip files each contain measured data used in different parts of the manuscript. LIFTemperatureData.zip: Contains 82 .csv files and 1 .txt file. The number .csv files from 1 to 81 contain LIF data use to calculate temperature while the electrodes are cooling. The first column is piezo voltage, the second column is LIF signal amplitude. Times.txt contains the time in minutes that has passed between when cooling the electrodes began and the measurement was taken. IceGrains11.csv is an LIF scan taken while there are ice grains present in the plasma, used to create the figure. FlowImpactOnIceGrains.zip: Contains a .avi movie file and a .jpg image. The image is used as a length calibration as the nozzle on the left side is 1/4" in diameter. The .avi movie is recorded at 250 frames per second. It shows how the ice grains move when Nozzle 2 is toggled exposing the grains to a force from the argon atoms flowing past them. Field of view during the movie is the same as the calibration image, the only thing visible in the movie is the ice grains. y_equals_0_plane_FlowMeasurement.zip: Contains folders Nozzle1 and Nozzle2 which each contain 1890 .csv files inside them. Each csv file is one LIF scan taken when the nozzle in the folder name is open. The format of the naming of the files is x_y_z_i.csv where x = x position, y = y position, z = z position of my LIF diagnostic in stepper motor coordinates, and i = scan number between 1 and 30. If i is odd, the -z beam is shining. If i is even, the +z beam is shining. The two columns of data are piezo voltage and LIF signal. ScanOrder.txt is a text file listing the order the scan positions from beginning to end.
